License Requirements
How to earn your real estate license in North Carolina:
- Be 18 years old
- Take the 80-Hour Prelicensing Course and pass with a minimum of 80% on your final exam in the course.
- Fill-out your North Carolina Real Estate Commisison application and submit it along with your course certificate of passing, a criminal background check and application fee.
- The Real Estate Commission will review your application and advise you that you may test.
- Schedule your test with a testing center and pass the state exam by 75%.
- Take the three 30-hour Postlicensing Courses within the next three years, along with your annual continuing education requirements (8 hours).
